|E-mail Address Registration Home|

Why do I have to register an e-mail address?
The requirement is a matter of UGA policy. This policy states, in part:

There are current and emerging needs that necessitate official communication among individuals or groups of individuals via e-mail or other electronic means.

Why do I have to use my UGA MyID to register and/or verify my e-mail address?
Your UGA MyID and password provide a secure means of identifying you. Since potentially sensitive information may be sent to you, it is important that the address be verified as yours.

I don't remember my UGA MyID or the password?
Visit the UGA MyID website. As a security feature, you are required to change your password if you have forgotten it. NOTE: If you are using UGAMail for your e-mail and you have set up your desktop e-mail software to remember your password, you will have to reset the password in your desktop e-mail software the next time you read your mail.

Do I have to register a UGAMail e-mail address?
No. You should register the e-mail address at which you would prefer to receive any official announcements.

Why do I have to register my e-mail address and then go through the verification web page?
Since potentially sensitive information may be sent to you, it is important that the registered address be verified.
